Bezhan Adelpur is currently a Technician in Bioproducts Discovery and Development Center at the University of Guelph. He received his Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma from Humber College of Applied Arts And Technology at Toronto in 2010. He is currently studying Mechanical Engineering at Ryerson University in Toronto. He has previously worked at Tremco Canada and Ontario Place as a Mechanical Engineer Assistant. His specialties include machining and production of mechanical components using traditional machining processes, CAD and CAM software packages, Numerical Control equipment and determining specifications and materials for the manufacturing or performance of components, assemblies or major processes installations.
Zack Shjaodin Jamah, Technician. Received Electromechanical Engineering Technology diploma from Centennial College in Toronto (2007). He previously worked at the University of Toronto (Forestry Department) as a technician for injection molding setup, PLC and twin screw extruder, from 2007 to 2011. His specialities include Elements of Machine Design, Pneumatic Circuits, PLC/Pneumatic Interfacing, Robotic Devices and Electronic Instrument Specialists.
Milka Popov brings the expertise in project management and administration with the part-time appointment with BDDC. Milka joined the University of Guelph in July 2007 as a Research Projects Manager. In her previous position, she was Assistant Director at the CIHR Institute of Genetics, since the inception of the CIHR Institutes, in 2001. She led the implementation of programs and initiatives and worked closely with other federal agencies and voluntary health sector organizations. Milka has a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto, and conducted postdoctoral research at the Hospital for Sick Children, in Toronto.
Dr. Singaravelu Vivekanandhan, Research Scientist and Program Coordinator
Received his Ph.D. in Physics from Pondicherry University in 2007. His research interests include wet chemical synthesis of nanostructured materials and their surface enhancement for energy and polymer composite applications. His current research is focused on the synthesis and characterization of carbon and silver nanostructures for polymer nano composites. Dr. Vivekanandhan also manages the Ontario Research Fund – Research Excellence grant entitled “Improved Utilization of Co-products from Second Generation Biofuel Industries for the Production of New Industrial Bioproducts”.

Rizwan Ali - Financial Administrative Support Staff
Rizwan Ali has been with the Plant Agriculture department since 2011 and administers all financial, accounting, purchasing and outreach activities of Bioproducts Discovery and Development Centre. He earned his business degree in Finance from University of Wales, United Kingdom and currently pursuing Certify Management Accounting (CMA).
