Project SOY Plus Competition 2021

2021-03-26

Held virtually this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the competition involved students presenting their products to a panel of industry representatives in online, science fair-style booths. The online competition allowed members of the public to view innovative plant-based products, including anti-chafing cream, energy balls, yogurt, and 3-D-printed eyeglasses made from ocean waste and soy.

This year, both teams from the BDDC placed in the top 3 of their respective categories.

In the undergraduate category, Peter Zytner won third place for SOYL Sustainable Products. (Advisors: Profs. Manjusri Misra, School of Engineering, and Amar Mohanty, Plant Agriculture)

In the graduate category, Benjamin Maldonado and Aarsha Surendren won second place for Soja Eyewear.(Advisors: Profs. Manjusri Misra, School of Engineering, and Amar Mohanty, Plant Agriculture)
