The Better World Project, launched by the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM), featured a news article, entitled "Serving a Better Cup of Coffee". The article describes the story of the PurPod100, the world's first BPI certified compostable coffee pod. 

The Bioproducts Discovery and Development Centre (BDDC) at the University of Guelph is involved in the discovery and innovation. PurPod100 is a Club Coffee product and is supplied to large retailers in Canada and the United States, including Loblaws, Kroger, Walmart, and Costco.
