Stewart Cressman

Stewart Cressman, of Petersburg, is a graduate of the University of Guelph with a BSc in Agriculture and an MSc in Ruminant Nutrition. Mr. Cressman was raised on a mixed farm near the village of New Dundee, which he has farmed since 1980, producing beef, pork and cash crops.

Mr. Cressman had worked for the Ministry of Agriculture and Food as a Dairy Cattle Specialist prior to farming. Currently he is Vice-chair of Swine Innovation Porc, the federal research cluster for swine, and a board member of the Canadian Swine Health Board, as well as former chair of Ontario Pork's Research Committee

Mr. Cressman is the Chair of the Agricultural Research Institute of Ontario, which is a corporate body that reports directly to the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. This group provides advice to the Minister on strategic direction for OMAFRA's research activities.
