Callum Singaram

Callum is a M. A. Sc. student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Guelph. At the BDDC, he has researched the quantification of bio-materials under supervision of Drs. Ryan Clemmer and Amar Mohanty since September 2022. His current project aims to assess the performance of common materials used as bedding for dairy cows, and create a framework for meaningful comparison of these materials.
Callum graduated with a B. Eng in Materials Engineering from McMaster University in 2018, and started working in the automotive industryshortly thereafter. Prior to his current research, he was part of the Product Engineering department at Polycon Industries for 2½ years.
His major achievements in this role were the development of a diagnostic tool for the new WS Liftgate program, as well as improving upon the industry standard quick-knife test.
His areas of interest include bio-materials, quality, process design, data collection and analysis, and advanced manufacturing.
